Equipment

  • Small mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Shallow Dish or Resealable Plastic Bag
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients

  • 4 fillets salmon 6 ounces each, 170g
  • ¼ cup olive oil 60ml
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest from about 1 lemon
  • 3 cloves garlic minced, about 1 tablespoon
  • 1 tsp dried dill
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp ground black pepper

Instructions

  • Begin by whisking together the olive oil and fresh lemon juice in a small bowl.
  • Add the lemon zest, minced garlic, dried dill, salt, and ground black pepper to the mixture, stirring until well combined.
  • Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag.
  • Pour the marinade over the salmon, making sure each fillet is evenly coated.
  • Cover the dish or seal the bag, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for a more robust flavor.
  • When ready to cook, remove the salmon from the marinade and discard any excess marinade before proceeding with your preferred cooking method.

Notes

For best results, allow the salmon to come to room temperature for about 15 minutes before cooking.
The marinade can also be used for grilling, baking, or pan-searing the salmon.
If you prefer a sweeter marinade, consider adding a keto-friendly sweetener like erythritol or stevia to taste.
Always check the internal temperature of your salmon with a meat thermometer to ensure it reaches 145°F (63°C) for optimal doneness.
