Ingredients

  • ½ cup olive oil
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce, sugar-free
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp dried thyme
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper optional, for heat
  • 4 steaks of choice (ribeye, sirloin, etc.) about 6 ounces / 170g each

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, sugar-free Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, sea salt, ground black pepper, onion powder, smoked paprika, dried thyme, and cayenne pepper if using. Whisk until well blended.
  • Place the steaks in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the steaks, ensuring they are well coated on all sides.
  • Seal the dish with plastic wrap or close the plastic bag, removing as much air as possible.
  • Refrigerate and let the steaks marinate for at least 2 hours, or up to 24 hours for deeper flavor. Flip the steaks halfway through the marinating time if possible.
  • When ready to cook, remove the steaks from the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 20-30 minutes before grilling.
  • Preheat the grill to high heat. Grill the steaks to your desired level of doneness, using the marinade to baste the steaks while they cook.
  • Rest the cooked steaks for 5-10 minutes before serving to allow the juices to redistribute.
