Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Shallow dish
  • Mixing bowl
  • Measuring spoons

Ingredients

  • 8 oz Brie Cheese
  • 1 cup Pecans, finely crushed
  • ¼ cup Almond flour
  • 1 Egg, beaten large
  • 2 tablespoons Butter, melted
  • ½ teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon Garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • teaspoon Freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar-free Honey
  • teaspoon Cayenne pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a shallow dish, combine the crushed pecans, almond flour, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create the crust mixture.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the egg until well mixed.
  • Dip the brie cheese first into the beaten egg, ensuring it is fully coated.
  • Next, press the brie into the pecan mixture, turning to coat all sides evenly.
  • Place the coated brie on the prepared baking sheet and drizzle with melted butter.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until the pecan crust is golden and the brie starts to ooze slightly.
  • While the brie bakes, prepare the spicy honey by combining sugar-free honey with a pinch of cayenne pepper. Adjust the cayenne to taste for desired spiciness.
  • Once the brie is baked, let it rest for 2-3 minutes before transferring to a serving dish.
  • Drizzle the spicy honey over the brie and serve immediately.

Notes

For a nuttier flavor, toast the pecans lightly before crushing them.
Ensure the brie is well-chilled before coating to prevent it from melting too quickly in the oven.
Serve with keto-friendly crackers or vegetable sticks for dipping.
The spicy honey can be adjusted to taste, and a sugar-free honey alternative helps maintain the low-carb profile of this dish.
