Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken wings, tips removed, drumettes and flats separated
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 3 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce adjust to taste for spiciness
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish optional

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, whisk together olive oil, apple cider vinegar, melted butter, hot sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, ground cumin, sea salt, black pepper, and lemon zest to create the marinade.
  • Add chicken wings to the marinade and toss to coat evenly. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours for deeper flavor.
  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top.
  • Arrange the marinated chicken wings in a single layer on the rack, ensuring they are not touching for even cooking.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the wings are golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).
  • Optional: For extra crispiness, broil the wings for an additional 2-3 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
  • Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired before serving.

For a crispier skin, pat the wings dry before marinating.
Adjust the heat level by increasing or decreasing the amount of hot sauce.
