Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lemon wedges for garnish

Instructions

  • Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
  • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  • Increase the heat to medium-high and add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer.
  • Cook the shrimp for 2 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, or until they're pink and opaque.
  • Stir in the lemon juice, chopped parsley, and red pepper flakes (if using), and toss to combine.
  • Remove from heat and serve immediately, garnished with lemon wedges.

Notes

For best results, use fresh shrimp, but frozen can be used if thawed properly.
Adjust red pepper flakes to your preference for heat.
This dish is best served fresh but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
