Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Mixing bowl
  • Measuring spoons and cups
  • Paper towels

Ingredients

For the Fish

  • 1 pound white fish fillets such as cod or tilapia
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

For the Cabbage Slaw

  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • ½ tsp chili powder

For the Tacos

  • 8 keto-friendly tortillas store-bought or homemade
  • Optional toppings sliced avocado, lime wedges, fresh cilantro, and crumbled feta cheese

Instructions

  • Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels and season both sides with cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the fish fillets and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side or until the fish is golden and flakes easily with a fork. Remove from the skillet and let it rest.
  • In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Toss until the cabbage is well coated with the dressing. Set aside for the flavors to meld.
  • Warm the keto-friendly tortillas according to the package instructions or, if homemade, in a skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side.
  • Break the cooked fish into chunks and distribute evenly among the warmed tortillas.
  • Top with a generous amount of cabbage slaw.
  • Add any optional toppings like sliced avocado, lime wedges, fresh cilantro, or crumbled feta cheese.
