Equipment

  • Small saucepan
  • Measuring spoons
  • Whisk
  • Mug

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Almond milk, unsweetened 240 ml
  • 1 tablespoon Heavy cream 15 ml
  • 1 Chai tea bag
  • 1 tablespoon Erythritol or another keto-friendly sweetener 15 g
  • ¼ teaspoon Ground cinnamon 0.5 g
  • teaspoon Ground ginger 0.25 g
  • teaspoon Ground cardamom 0.25 g
  • Ground cloves A pinch, 0.1 g
  • Ground nutmeg A pinch, 0.1 g
  • ½ teaspoon Vanilla extract 2.5 ml

Instructions

  • Begin by gently heating the almond milk in a small saucepan over medium heat until it begins to steam. Do not allow it to boil to prevent curdling.
  • Add the heavy cream to the saucepan, stirring to combine with the almond milk.
  • Submerge the chai tea bag in the milk mixture, ensuring it's fully immersed. Leave the tea bag to steep for about 4 minutes to infuse the milk with the chai flavors.
  • Remove the tea bag, squeezing out any excess milk back into the saucepan.
  • Stir in the erythritol or chosen keto-friendly sweetener, blending until it is completely dissolved.
  • Add the ground cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves, and nutmeg to the saucepan. Whisk the spices into the milk mixture thoroughly to distribute evenly.
  • Allow the mixture to heat through for another minute, making sure it's hot but not boiling.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract for added depth of flavor.
  • Pour the Keto Chai Spiced Almond Milk Latte into a pre-warmed mug.
  • Optional: Froth additional almond milk or heavy cream and gently spoon on top for a barista-style finish.

Notes

For a frothy latte, use a milk frother on the almond milk mixture before adding the spices.
Adjust the sweetness to taste; some may prefer a less sweet latte, while others may want additional sweetness.
If you prefer a caffeine-free version, use a decaffeinated chai tea bag.
To make this recipe dairy-free, substitute the heavy cream with coconut cream or additional almond milk.
