Ingredients

  • 1 large head cauliflower approximately 2 pounds or 900 grams
  • 3 tbsp olive oil 45 ml
  • 1 tsp garlic powder 3.1 grams
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika 2.3 grams
  • ½ tsp ground turmeric 1 gram
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese 30 grams
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Remove the leaves from the cauliflower and trim the stem, ensuring the head remains intact.
  • Slice the cauliflower vertically into 1-inch thick steaks. Depending on the size, you should get about 4 steaks.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, turmeric, salt, and pepper.
  • Place the cauliflower steaks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Brush both sides of each steak with the seasoned olive oil mixture.
  • Roast in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes or until the cauliflower is tender and the edges are golden brown.
  • Sprinkle the roasted cauliflower steaks with grated Parmesan cheese and return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and slightly crispy.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

The thickness of your steaks may vary based on the size of the cauliflower; adjust cooking time accordingly.
For a vegan version, omit the Parmesan cheese or use a plant-based alternative.
Feel free to experiment with different herbs and spices to suit your taste preferences.
