Equipment

  • Medium-sized bowl
  • Spoon or small cookie scoop
  • Plate or shallow dish
  • Serving platter

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces goat cheese softened
  • ¼ cup fresh blackberries
  • 1 tablespoon fresh sage finely chopped
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup almond flour for rolling

Instructions

  • In a medium-sized bowl, combine the softened goat cheese, fresh blackberries, and chopped sage. Mash the blackberries slightly as you mix to infuse the cheese with their color and flavor.
  • Add the garlic powder, sea salt, and black pepper to the cheese mixture. Stir until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  • Using a spoon or a small cookie scoop, form the mixture into 1-inch balls.
  • Place the almond flour on a plate or shallow dish. Roll each goat cheese ball in the almond flour until evenly coated.
  • Arrange the coated cheese balls on a serving platter. If desired, garnish each ball with a blackberry half and a small sage leaf.
  • Refrigerate the goat cheese balls for at least 30 minutes before serving to firm them up and allow the flavors to meld.
  • Serve chilled and enjoy the burst of flavors.

Notes

For a nut-free version, you can substitute the almond flour with coconut flour or crushed pork rinds.
The goat cheese balls can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
Ensure the goat cheese is at room temperature before mixing for easier incorporation of ingredients.
