Equipment

  • Grill or skillet
  • Large Bowl
  • Mixing spoon
  • Measuring spoons
  • Knife
  • Cutting board
  • Frying pan
  • Paper towels

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20) 453g
  • 4 slices sharp cheddar cheese 112g
  • 8 slices bacon 224g
  • ½ tsp salt 2.5g
  • ½ tsp black pepper 1g
  • 1 tsp garlic powder 3.1g
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce 15ml
  • ½ cup chopped onions 80g
  • 4 large lettuce leaves for wrapping
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced 150g
  • 1 dill pickle, sliced 70g

Instructions

  • Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
  • Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions and form into patties.
  • Grill the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for a medium cook, or until your desired level of doneness is reached.
  • While the burgers are cooking, in a separate pan, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Set aside on paper towels to drain excess fat.
  • Once the burgers are cooked, place a slice of cheese on each patty and let melt for about 1 minute.
  • Remove the burgers from the grill and allow them to rest for a couple of minutes.
  • Assemble the burgers by placing each patty on a lettuce leaf, add a slice of tomato, a couple of slices of pickle, and two slices of bacon.
  • Wrap the lettuce around the contents and serve immediately.

Notes

Adjust the seasoning to your preference or add other keto-friendly toppings like avocado or a fried egg.
If the burgers are sticking to the grill or skillet, lightly oil the surface before cooking.
Ensure the internal temperature of the burgers reaches 160°F (71°C) for food safety.
